This movie is very good. The special effect is nothing you've seen before. Of course, other than the special effect, you also need a good story to make it a good film, and "The Perfect Storm" has it. You don't go into the movie and expect a very fast past action film, it is based on a true story, a disaster which I think the film is very well made. First thing I like about this movie is that they don't try to sell how gorgeous the movie stars are, instead, they make it very realistic, down to the dirty finger nails. Which remind me of a turn off when I saw Matt Damon's perfectly white teeth in "Saving Private Ryan". It is a good film, good story and realistic special effect, which I think I am not going out to the sea for a long time. If you are going to see just one film, go for "Gladiator", but if you are hesitating between "The Patriot" and "The Perfect Storm", go for the "Storm". I've watched "The Patriot" as well, and I don't think it is as good as "The Perfect Storm".
