This movie played in summer 2009. This thriller is "Davinci code" continuation. A substance named "ambigram", this substance is very dangerous, it can destroy a city, is stolen. The thief threatens to destroy the Vatican. During this time, at the Vatican, next to the death of the pope, some priests are kidnap. The professor Robert Langdon is call to help. The autorities think it the work of the secret and authentic society, the Illuminati. When the priests begins to be kills, one after one, the tension is rising up. This movie is rated 13+. I believe it is because the scenes when the priests are kills are too intense. The suspense is very amazing, but some scenes are very disgusting. Sometimes, the action is very unreal, we ask how the professor tought it. The specials effects are so realistics, we believe them. The enigme is very intéressant and intelligent, but sometimes it too difficult to understand. For me, it is a good movie with good action, but nothing more. I don't discourage this movie , but it is not the movie of the century. In brief, it is a good movie, but anyway I prefer the romantics comedies. My rate : 3/5. Great!

Fast moving and much superior to Da Vinci Code. In this case the movie lived up to the book.

Strangely, although I preferred the book Angels & Demons over DaVinci Code, I much preferred DaVinci Code as a movie. Still a must see. Now, if they can only film Deception Point!!

Un bon film mais je n'ai pas mis 10 sur 10 car je n'ai pas aimé Tom Hanks dans son rôle j'aurai plutôt mis Gerald Butler ou encore Nicolas Cage.

A whodunit about people running and cars racing through the narrow streets of Rome. The dialogue is partly unintelligible because the music is so loud. Disappointing.

It was a good action adventure film with the appropriate twist to make it surprising. In some ways, it challenged religion. Evil existed, but it was human and real and not supernatural and even priests are only human.

It is a murder / mystery movie made for tv. Nothing special.

The film was good. I'll definitely be buying it so that I can catch all the little details I missed in the theatre. However, my first impression of the film is that I wasn't all that convinced in the character development and the conclusion of the film. Mostly, it had to deal with one specific character. His actions through the course of the film didn't add-up to his concluding role/actions. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it wasn't believable. It just seemed like Dan Brown tried to make a twist at the end and didn't put much thought into it. But like I said, I'll have to watch it again.

Fast-paced, great location and more edgy than Da Vinci code. Not as mysterious but still good enough for a viewing. It was easy to pick out who the villian was. Liked the message on the unity of religion and science.

Can't say I felt the love for this movie. It seemed to be just a series of looking for (lame) clues and then rushing somewhere. Yawn. Watching the movie I had absolutely zero sympathy for the Catholic Church and just didn't care what happened to them. Still don't understand how angels and demons fit into it all.

I'm not a huge fan of the action thriller genre but this one was good... good acting, sets and plot with some amazing special effects. Ron Howard's direction was wonderful and Ewan McGreggor's performance memorable.

I read the book before I saw the movie, and although the book was better (as with any movie made from a book) it was an excellent movie. In fact, I went with two friends who also read the book first, and they both had the same opinion. All in all, better movie adaptation than the Da Vinci Code.

First of all... wow. OMJ, this movie had me on a deceptively cunning journey of intrigue and mystery. This plot is so advanced for this era and the novel from which it is based is a work of true genius. I would fully recommend this movie to any person who enjoys a good race against time. Ten out of Ten, great job. Believe in yourself.

Direction by Ron Howard. Great imagery. I just got back from Rome and it is captured beautifully even if digitally. Story: better than DaVinci Code. Have to really put brain aside to believe someone can solve all these riddles in such a short time period but the twists, the camera angles and great job by villans makes this a good thriller.

I tried to read the book three times and couldn't get into it. I was glad to see the 1.5 hour version. Not too bad, but I liked the Da Vinci Code -- movie and book -- much better. And Tom Hanks is a cutie.

I was not completely sold on this movie. There were elements that were fantastic, and it stayed as true to a novel as any theatric interpretation can. But it was forgettable. Before anyone starts harping on me about my opinion of the film, make it known that I have read all of Dan Brown's books, before seeing the movies, and was thoroughly looking forward to this one.

Great movie. Liked it better than the Da Vinchi Code. I did not read the book, and it made me question my Roman Catholic religion. I wonder how much of it is true? I also thought the actor Stellan Skarsgard, who played the head of the Swiss Guard, (which is devoted to the pope's protection), was better as one of the possible father's in "Mama Mia" the movie, which coincidently was made by Tom Hanks who was also the main star in Angels and Demons!

I really enjoyed this movie. I thought it moved fast, had a good plot and good acting. However, I still think that Tom Hanks is miscast as Robert Langdon. I think that someone like Viggo Mortenson could have done a better job.

Perhaps I spoiled my experience of the movie by reading the book first but it was in the end a middle of the road adaptation of a long and detailed story. They couldn't help but cut things out and change bits with such a long novel. I enjoyed the photography and anticipating where the changes in the story would be but I missed the level of suspense I found in the book.

Forgettable. I did not read the book, which is much more solid and does not have those unexplained deus ex machina series of events towards the end like the movie does. Not bad, just forgettable.

Had I not read the book I might have given it a 7. Once you get past the fact that the story's main characters have changed you can then try to follow the plot and the so-so acting. Music and shots are great. Ending was ok.

The book was fantastic, which prompted me to see the movie - it was exceptionally well done - (even better than DaVinci Code) - great scenery, good action! I would definitely go see it again!

This movie was okay. If I could give this movie a more precise ranking, I'm thinking 6.7. It wasn't terrible... at a minimum, it was a good storyline to follow. Although, I think this could have been much more suspenseful. Perhaps an influence from the Cohen brothers would have been useful? Not sure... but it leaves you feeling like something is missing. COnsidering that this is a story from a best selling novel - it just doesn't add up.
