Let's not treat everything done by the Coen brothers as if it is made of gold. There are a few enjoyable parts in this movie which seem to be entirely supported by the excellent character of The Dude. Other than that I find most parts of the film hard to enjoy and sometimes hard to understand. The Dude makes for a good halloween costume and that is all the movie has to offer.
