A remarkable film, totaly involving, with a permanent expectation for what will arrive then and maybe also a precise description of C. I. A. Mentality and action.

I liked film very much, but there is a subconcious messagge that with big force come out at the end of the film. The trick is that we are all very happy that too wite people haven't been left in cines prison. It's egnough to see the bitted face of Brad pit. On this way we don't think about prisons in USA or Europe.

All you people downing this movie need to go to the deppanneur and buy yourselves some taste! This movie was not meant as an action movie, but a DRAMA! Unbiased, Excellent liason with world politics of the time, non-propagandic story (for once as I detest american propaganda movies) This movie was develloped focusing on an agents' life story and how his "mentor" never gave up on him. It portrayed the true and difficult life of a spy, always covering up his tracks and how his greatest weakness were the people he cared for. Excellent soundtrack, it blended well with the scenery. If you're just looking for guns and explosions... go rent a John Woo film like MI-2, where you don't have to worry about thinking how a plot is develloped and twisted.

Whenever Robert Redford directs movies, you know that the movie is worth seeing. The actors and actresses that he chooses can get the job done and make the movie come alive with his creative ability to reach audiences from around the world. He brings out the best. The inspiration and the depth than you don't see alot in movies anymore.

Even though I am FED UP of all these movies where there isn't a female role in site (unless she's the prostitute/wife/mother) , I did enjoy the movie. It presented a view of the U.S A.'s involvement in other countries that you normally don't get to see... and fine, I'll admit it... Redford and Pitt are good actors.

Pleasantly suprised. The story was unique and the performance by Redford was steady and sure. A sure sign of a good flick is if it inspired conversation afterwards and it certianly did that.

I loved it. C'est bien tourné, bien joué, intelligent et ça surpasse de loin plusieurs pourritures que j'ai vu récemment (américaines et étrangères) It's really worth it!

Great movie with great actors at their best. Quite previsible at times, but still is worth to be seen, mostly if you like thrilling movies.

I have nothing to say about this film but ridiculous and lack of common sense. The director told the audience a story, especiall about the prison in China where US planes can fly over freely aross many provinces which shows he knew little or nothing about China. And the end of the story is typical Hollywood's end with no novelty. Although the actors are OK, I am disappointed at the director. We need real films.

This one was a bit of a shocker. I personally expected more from a film with Bobby Redford in it. It's not the action flick you might think it to be, rather it's a long story about spies, politics and of course what would such a movie be without government corruption. Although there is no action, the story is well written and keeps you thinking the whole way through. Redford is amazing by default, and Pitt is his typical self. When you've seen all the fantastic movies and you find you have a little cash left over and yearn for a good Redford flick, go see this one.

Nice character play between the old spy (old pretty-boy) and the young spy (young pretty-boy) Very edgy cinematography. Entertaining.

It's an interesting movie, where american dummy soldiers fly from a non-existant base in Penghu islands across two chinese provinces to an inland city of Suchou. Oh, and Chinese actually were stupid enough to build their prison in one of the major cities of China (which had somehow reverted to how it used to look 30 years ago) , recruit people all the way from Canton to run it, allow the use of the traditional chinese when it is abolished elsewhere in china. Please, if you wanna make a spy movie, at least make it look credible.

This movie was okay, want good, but also wasnt bad to watch, too much talking going on in this movie. But it also shows how the intellegence agency works around the world, or atleast I think it shows it does. Overall an okay movie to watch.

This was a very good movie, the politics that Robert Redford had to wade through were interesting, and though obviously I have no clue what real spies go through I thought the events were pretty believable.

I was surprised to see so little action in this movie. I expected it to be quite straight forward, but it has a certain depth to it. It's worth seeing.

A great movie and it's about time. This movie really gets you to stay on your toes about all the details throughout the movie. Great for those that like to think but not for the ones just looking for action. A very different fresh concept.

This movie was a good show, but don't really expect a lot of action/fighting scenes. The movie is more about behind the scenes spy stuff... but still a good show.

This movie doesn't let you take a glance at your watch at any time. Good mix of action, suspense, and complicated situations. Trust me, I get bored very easily, and this movie was fun. You have to think during the movie because the plot isn't that clear, which makes for an amusing night out. Good, not great, but worth it!

It wasn't a pretty movie: it was one of those dark, dirty, "real" ones, but it certainly wasn't boring. It was a little more artistic than the other action/mystery movies out right now (I. E. Behind Enemy Lines, Oceans Eleven which, by the way, WAS a "pretty" movie) but still not something to be analyzed by intellectuals. Definitely worth seeing if you happen to be a Brad Pitt fan (though I should warn you he seems to actually be making an effort NOT to look good, however laughable that is) or are into espionage.

Other than the first and last 10 minutes of the movie, the rest was quite boring. Rather than focussing on the "spying" aspect, the movie told a story of how two characters met. Wasn't what I expected, and was very misleading.

A decent movie, sometimes a bit hard to follow, because of the years. How much does Robert Redford look like he could be Brad Pitt's dad?

My wife and I saw this movie of a whim. We enjoye dit very much, particularly given the crap that Hollywood is producing these days. This movie is an intelligent political thriller in which all the pieces fit together nicely. The characters played by Redford and Pitt are believable. The plot is interesting, and the dialogue meaningful. All in all, one of the few movies out there that is actually worth the price of admission.

Reford and Pitt, who would of thought that this combination would work. Out with the old in with the new, but Redford still had more presence. Very good the two of them and very good chemistry to add to a good story. Go see it.

Spy Game starts out with some pretty high paced action sequences that induce plenty of tension. In fact, so much so that this viewer actually overlooked the fact that the opening credits had not yet even appeared on the screen to signify the movie was actually underway. It's deceptive in this way that it seems to want to prompt the audience into steadying itself for a real andrenaline ride, but the movie never fully recovers this edge of your seat tension. But nor does it plummet into a swan dive from there. In a lot of ways, this was one movie I felt had trouble deciding what it wants to be. A serio-political caper with plot twists? An action flick with dramatic elements and a love story to boot? If it fails at all in any one area, it's probably in trying to cover too many bases and in trying on so many hats. Too much of a mixed genre. Redford and Pitt have no trouble keeping our minds focused to the action and dialogue though, riveting our eyes to the screen. Good for a Tuesady night.

I thought this movie was very appropriate in its timing..... while the Alied Forces are bombing another 3rd world country in real life this movie shows us how most of the problems we face are dealt with by those in power (isn't it funny how weapons of mass destuction are fine when we're using it on others? All this without CNN noticing!!! WOW!). Getting back to the movie... Pitt shows why he is one of the best actors out there. His range as an actor is AMAZING (from Fight Club to The Mexican to Spy Games)... and Redford is credible after all of these years. This is a very good movie... but not for those who can't think while chewing their popcorn like cows!!

Great film. Solid performance, especially from Pitt, who seems to be getting better with every film he makes. Redford strong as per usual. Well made film, dashing to and fro from a beautifully made set to the next. Intelligent twist, right till the end.

My problem with this movie is in the direction. It's just too hectic. The camera flies around like the cameraman is on crack or something. Also, I didn't care for the flashback-style plot. Robert Redford was fantastic however. I really enjoyed his character and the way he played the other CIA folks; it was worth seeing for that alone.
