I went to see Gosford Park last week and have been thinking about it ever since. As one who lived in a period where you refered to your Mama and Papa, and, like all small children, were to be seen but not heard I was lost in the authenticity and atmosphere this film evoked. The only jarring note was the language used by Mr Wiseman, but maybe this was deliberate as he was an American jew, which at that time would have made him a complete outsider in English society. All the acting was superb with Emily Watson and Maggie Smith leading the way. The story was intriguing without being confusing and the touches of humour were very deft. Well worth another visit.
