Who's who of whodunit... wow, the cast alone was worth of the price of admission, even if I couldn't hear half the movie because of people yammmering. What is with people at movies? If you want to talk, go elsewhere. You know those shallow people in Gosford Park, recognize anyone? And they say we're the "Me Generation", I think we've been mislabelled by a couple of twenty or thirty years. Highlights? The obvious, Maggie Smith, Jeremy Northam, Clive Owen, Emily Watson, Alan Bates, Helen Mirren, even little Ryan Philippe is really coming into his own (nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more, a nod's as good a wink to a blind bat).. amazing cast, direction, script... it was disappointing that they dummied up the plot for us "North Americans"... I had it all figured out in less than an hour (more than I can say for fellow audience members as they were walking out of the theatre) I like a good Whodunit where I have to really work for the mystery. I am amused and saddened to see nothing has changed in 70 years, still the class distinction, still the good people are oft below stairs instead of in the drawing rooms.
