After a long while, there were signs telling me to stop watching this. M. Night Shymalan delivered in The Sixth Sense, but what he's created here is nothing about nothing.

First time I watched it I didn't like it... Watched it again recently and I loved it!!! AMAZING movie. First time I watched it I was disapointed because I thought it was an action movie. It's not , it's about human reaction when facing horrible circumstances. The story was good , extremely slow pace. Don't expect a big boom to hapend , because it never hapends. I would of done a lil more with this movie... but still one of my top 10!!

This movie is a great scifi-thriller movie it has an intelligence and depth that a lot of other alien movies fail to reach. It is refreshingly intelligent because some of the past Alien movies I have seen are all action and no intelligence like the Alien Quadrilogy is a mix of horror and action not that there is anything wrong with that because I love that movie quadrilogy. But it is refreshing to see some intelligence in these type of movie great both in terms of suspense and intelligence. Recommend seeing!!

M. Night Shaylamyn is terrible. I hope the book was not as bad as this movie. Made it a point to remind my friends of their poor decision after the movie.

Good job by Night, this movie right up there with The six sense & Unbreakable. The performance by Joaquin & Mel were good.

[...] I thought this film was great and what was even greater was that a day after I watched this film the was 2 fields with crops circles about 5 minutes away from were I live!!! I think that Mel Gibson did very well in acting on this film and people that say he didn't are just flippen jealouse because he is a very good actor!!!

This was a great movie. Everything was in a place for a reason. The brother being a baseball player, Bo not finishing her water, and the other kid having asthma. Great, great movie.

I don't quite get the movie. I don't find it scary at all. The story goes pretty slow. I don't get what the intentions of the aliens are. And at the end of the movie, people seem to assume it was faith in God that saved the kid, couldn't it have been the alien who saved him? I mean, the alien did spray him with something... and who knows what it is.

Indeed, this movie could have been much better. I feel awkward giving M. Shyamalan advice on how to direct his movies in the future (having also seen The Village, which by the way is rated along the same lines as I rate this one) but I believe that part of the intrigue rests on uncertainty. As M. Shyamalan said himself, "what we are all afraid of is the unknown. We all fear what we cannot see, what we do not know, for example the dark." I believe that to be very accurate, but Shyamalan doesn't feature this into Signs (or The Village for that matter) In my opinion, this movie fails at the very end. It is in showing us the alien that we have feared throughout the whole movie that he loses it. The flow of the film is interupted by the revelation of the monster because it is as if the director is saying : "Look, here's the monster, he's not that freaky... Look at him! " Shyamalan destroys the uncertainty that kept our blood chilly throughout the movie. He unmasks the unknown. The whole movie is then put to question as a result. But before the ending, the movie is quite spectacular. The movie has an amazing aspect of mystery which keeps us binded to the movie. The acting couldn't be much better. The characters themselves radiate a delicious mist of mystery. For example, Mel Gibason's daughter is extremely mysterious. We sort of hold a grudge against her because the director makes us suspect that she will play a role at the very end. The whole movie is draped in a curtain of mystery which we long to be uncovered by a great conclusion. What a shame that it doesn't come.

I don't understand what it is talking about. I think it is one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. If Mel Gibson didn't play a a role in it, I would never choose to watch. And the truth is that my first impression is right: this movie sucks.

I think Signs is one of the best movie's ever, it's so great and scary, the ending is the best part. It's just so... cool!!! I saw one review saying "Why did the wife die", well if she hadn't died, they'd all be dead!

M. Night Shamylan did a great third movie, and did this one his best. The dark atmosphere and the gripping sensation of what is going to happen next kept you on the edge of your seat, with your hands over your eyes, but still peeking through them to see what happens. SEE IT NOW!!!

I believe this movie was more about faith than little green man from mars. It is more than just eye candy or a shoot-um up adventure, it had heart. A movie with real substance is rare. I give it an 8.

The Movie was Awful, DEAD AWFUL. Look for one, 1. The movie's plot had nothing to do with the title. 2. The characters were not appealing 3. The aliens are not scary, and they look lame, and oh yea, Hoeky! 4. The Spoiled brat Culkin, killed his dog, he murdered his dog. And he didn't care, he didn't feel sad what he did, (Jeez le weez, talk about GREAT EMOTION) 5. No one dies, except for the ones that SHOULDN'T OF DIED, such as (the two (adorible german shepards, and the wife, why did SHE have to Die! A car! Pleaaase) 6. I'm sorry I have heard christians seen this said it was GOOD. But losing your faith in God, isn't the way to go, is it just me or should this movie be called (Signs) The title truly is retarted. Anyway, I don't like M N. Shylaman's work, he's a lousy director, and should go back to college, and earn a college degree in being an HD, a Hollywood Director..

This movie is terrible! I thought it was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, not scary at all. Did anyone else laugh when they saw the "Dead Bird" deleted scene on the DVD? Still, I was hyped up on 12 cokes, but still, c'mon people!

I thought this movie sucked. It was too focused on alien life, which I thought was totally unrealistic, especially when they showed the scenes with the aliens. I thought it was a bit creepy when they heard all the noises on the walkie talkie and stuff, but besides that, it was stupid and fake.

This movie was one of the best I've ever seen. When I first saw it, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The story is well set, the actors and actressess did a wonderful job, the soundtrack was wonderfully produced, as are all scores done by James Howard, and overall, a thriller not to be missed. I must have seen this movie five or six times now, and it gets better every time.

I think this movie is fantastic, it does however deserve a different rating as when I went to see it there were people screaming alot (especially at the brazilian video bit) I too was generally scared and that is very unlike me, it stayed with me for quite a while after I saw it, the aliens were not big, bloodthirsty killers but intelligent, sophisticated and they always kept to the shadows, not giving much away about them and always keeping you guessing about them. The way the family dealt with the situation could have been improved but that was made up by intense moments all throughout the film. My heart was constantly thumping hard! Genuinely scary, a masterpiece.

So far, The sixth sense stays on the 'top ten' list while the unbreakable drowned... What about SINGS? Pure entertainement, not so good when we think about how great the actors where. Remember the shot where they're all crying the hell out of them? Nice and touching! There'S propably a lot of defaults about those aliens. The fact is that M. Night Shamalyan didn't think too much about those aliens... I have to admit that the movie was scaring me a lot. It could've been made more 'perfectly'.

The first time I watched it I was expecting something else, not that I didn't like it in the movie, it had my heard going, but the trailor gave you an action feeling. But after I got the DVD for my birthday I watched it again and again, this movie was very well done and different, thats the important part. We have all seen aliens blowing up the world, I liked it!

This movie was full of plot holes big enough to drive a truck through. A LOT of technical errors too. (Did you happen to notice that they boarded up a door from the wrong side?) And what's with the crop circles? Navigation? Give me a break! An alien race that can navigate through deep space but needs crop circles to get their bearings? These aliens seem intelligent enough to drive huge spaceships, but apparently clueless when it comes to breaking into a farmhouse. And all it takes is a simple baseball bat to fight them off? Also, the simple element of water seems to dissolve their skin. Imagine the aliens' dissapointment when they learn that 80% of the earth's surface is covered with water. Oops! Sorry people, we invaded the wrong planet! And here's the big one... Everything about the Mel Gibson character tells you he's a Catholic priest (the collar, being called "Father", etc.) but CATHOLIC PRIESTS CAN'T HAVE FAMILIES! Speaking of families, let's not forget the death of his wife, which made him lose faith in God. Somehow, I just didn't believe it. Indeed it's tragic to lose a spouse, but I expected something more from the creative writers in Hollywood. Something more compelling needs to shake this guy from the tree of faith. Losing a spouse is just so overused, obvious and so very, very (yawn) uncreative. This movie was hastily made, not thought out at all, and an otherwise excellent actor (Mel Gibson) delves into a significant amount of over-acting. I don't want to spend another minute looking at a close-up of Mel's face as he tries to convey a sense of agony. But hey, I don't blame the guy. Given such a shallow plot line, I suppose that's all Mel could do. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that this movie failed to invoke any sort of emotion from me except anger for having wasted precisely 1 hour and 47 minutes of my time. M. Night Shyamalan is certainly capable of superior work, as seen by his previous movies. I suppose everyone's allowed to bomb out once in a while.

Overall I thought the movie had a lot to be desired. The plot was pretty much non-existent. I thought they focused too much on the family, and the outside world was almost inert. It felt similar to a dream like state, as if nobody else was affected other than the information they received on their TV. You almost question if the whole thing is a prank until the aliens attack their house. I would say this is one of those one-time viewers. The comedy relieves the tension, however it takes away from the reality of situation. Aliens smart enough to break into the house in several areas, but dumb as a dog in a pantry?!? Come-on... And why didn't the aliens try to gas them in the basement? Simple enough, if all they wanted was to eradicate the earth. And the loner alien at the end, did he stay behind to wreak his vengeance for cutting off his finger thingies. So was this a comedy or a sci-fi thriller? I'm still not sure...

I thought the alien part of the movie was a secondary plot line to the overwhelming grief, the numbness of mind, heart and soul; and loss of faith that Gibson's character and family were experiencing. This is a movie about a man who used God as a crutch his whole life, avoiding conflict and reality until he was forced to. Well-written and very human, this so-called sci-fi thriller was more of a love story - Gibson rediscovers that despite his tragedy he learns to love again, to love his family and his God. Perhaps more of a sign of the times in the world today. After all, the only sci-fi part is that we need aliens to destroy our planet and it's inhabitants, no need, we're doing a great job all on our own. Just wait, aliens.
