Possibly a remake of Hitchcock's "Psycho" but with a much more positive ending -- Atom Egoyan gets into deep noir-Oedipal, matriarchal-derived psychology. There is a fascinating "Ritual to Romance" religious revelation and redemption angle. Antique anthropology and modern pop culture deftly mixed.
