An excellent movie. The casting and acting is outstanding. Nice to see Tatou pull off an excellent performance that is so different from her role as Amelie..

A 'small' movie. No car chases or special efects. Just a great script and acting.

A bit slow paced, but anyone with empathy will enjoy the sense of tension. The two principles made memorable impressions, and the soundtrack was erily effective in its simplicity. Definitely worth seeing.

Strong acting and directing. The mix of romance, social commentary and mystery didn't flow as smoothly as desired though. Still worth seeing.

A good little movie with some great acting on the part of Audrey and Chiwitel. Makes you appreciate how lucky we are to live in a country of opportunity and freedom.

I only saw this movie because of Audrey Tautou. She didn't disappoint at all! I really liked Chiwetel Ejiofor's performance. He did a great job. It's a good movie, although it's nothing to get too excited about.

It's a sad, realistic but also positive story. The reality about what people are willing to do for a passport, money, survival, and love.

It's excellent film, some weaknesses like why make the immigrant officers more like comic Charactors. Chiwetel Ejiofor, was very good and I could feel his tiredness, working 24 hours a day trying to survive, yes as some some has said, he did have a dazed look, but that's the part. Also please remember that Chiwetel is English, and he gave a good Nigerian accent. Maybe the story may not have mass appeal, but it's all worth while..

Very good movie. Refreshing to see something that doesn't have the hand of Hollywood all over it. Some people have difficult lives with not so simple dicisions to make.

Very Good! An interesting look at the various challenges faced by illegal immigrants with desperate motivation for a better life. Original, seemingly realistic, and entertaining. Strong characters and good acting.

The movie is an excellent portrayal of the invisible minority, illegal immigrants who have to compromise constantly in order to survive in an otherwise "free" society. The movie has its weaknesses (the ending is predictable, the conclusion is a little trite, and the doctor has a secondary plot involving family that seems completely out of place and tacked on), but the dialogue is wonderful (even though too many characters speak the same way) One thing however, Audrey Tautou does NOT "reprise" her role as Amelie Poulin as some say. The two movies have absolutely nothing in common, unless you've only seen two movies in the past 5 years.

I thought this movie would be helpful for people who never think about the lower class and their needs and wants for survival, leisure and happiness. It wasn't sugar coated and gave an uncommon perspective compared to most movies, nor was it boring. I liked it a lot.

A brilliant film, which is what I expected from Stephen Frears. The story is great, the acting is superb. One of the best films of the year.

One of the best movies I have seen in a long while. Not Hollywood! Not maudlin but true and honest about the lives of some in a new land.

A taut, well acted, well edited movie with a disturbing adn compelling story. A window into the desparation to which people with no place they are allowed to be can be driven. Audrey Tatou is always a pleasure to see, and Chiwetel Ejiofor gives an excellent performance as a man torn apart by what life has dealt him and his desire to maintain his integrity and his humanity.

A gritty view of London through the eyes of immigrants. Taut and highly original. Stephen Frears proves to be a director of range and style. He certainly knows the craft of sustaining tension.

Don't do it. Frears fails with this one. Tautou reprises her Amelie character which is redundant. Story poorly written with abrupt ending. Male lead is very wooden, has no range, is about as expressive as Jeremy Irons.

The film was not quite what I expected. For some reason, I expected something like Million Dollar Hotel, so I was very pleasantly surprised when it was anything but. Chiwetel Ejiofor has a one-expression dazed look for much of the movie; though the story calls for it it doesn't give his character much diversity in the film. Audrey Tautou is great in the film - completely charming as she was in Amelie. The story is fairly simple but well portrayed and worth the time and $$..

Part mystery, part drama, part heartbreaking, really makes you think about what some people have to go through to get by in the world when they don't "officially exist". Great writing, great acting, highly recommended.
