I would have loved this film if the sriptwriters had not perverted history. There never was a Maximus. And Commodus, here, is being portrayed as a whimpy-crybaby who gets killed by Maximus. In reality, Commodus was an athletic type that was assassinated by his own sister. Other than that, the movie had good music and excellent choreography. I passed it only for those two reasons. Sorry, but I respect history a little too much to have it corrupted, no matter how good a film is.
