It's unfortunate many people couldn't get the message of this movie and do exactly what needs to be done - grow up. I would never imply that growing up is better than staying young forever, obviously, as a grown up I am aware of its advantages and disadvantages, but to grow up is a part of life. It doesn't mean you have to stop having fun; or be boring, or stop believing in magic and joy. But Pan, like many people wandering through the world masquarading as 'adults' was missing out on a lot by having the mindset of a child. He wasn't staying young, he was just staying in the same mindset because it was safe. It is far more daring to grow and change. This latest production of Peter Pan was certainly exciting, a little too vivid and violent for my taste as a parent, but it was filled with wonderful messages about love, hope, faith, trust, growing up and courage. Jason Isaacs certainly stole the show, but I can not say it as well as my 5-year-old son who said to a friend: Don't be scared, it's only pretend, he's the guy who played Draco Malfoy's father in Harry Potter, it's his job to be scary, and he's quite good, really. And no one enjoyed and was more engrossed in this movie than my son - so it is true, you can accept adult concepts and still see the magic. I believe in fairies, I do I do.
