This movie, as in the book explores, as a subtext an important social/fiscal point that seems to be lost on the "huddled masses" everywhere - the rich are rich because they use and abuse the poor. There are many many more poor people than rich people and yet they control everything. People are disadvantaged because someone took advantage. Love story? Not much of one, let's see, Fanny falls for a guy she grew up with like a brother? Nice... not. But I did enjoy the movie, very much.
